While two of our team members are visiting Verizon Developer Conference in Las Vegas, Verizon announces to relaunch a new Android App store, “Verizon Apps”. Special feature of this new appstore will be the use of Chomp’s app search engine.
Chomp’s search software bases its search not only on what the applications are called, it also searches on the function and the topic of the applications. Chomp was first available on the iPhone in January 2010. A year later Chomp became available on devices with Google Android Market.
Verizon Apps will replace Verizon’s current appstore “V Cast Apps”. With the cooperation of Chomp, Verizon tries to satisfy developers, for which it is hard to get seen in large appstores like Android Market and Apple App Store. Verizon Apps will be available exclusively to Verizon subscribers on Android devices this fall.
