Certain app stores specify in aiming their product at enterprise customers, for example AppCentral is one of them. The recently launched AppHQ client is also a product for businesses, focusing on security. It comes preinstalled on the first Cisco Android device, the Cisco Cius tablet. The AppHQ is basically an application storefront that helps enterprise users create, manage and deploy applications for the tablet. It is a way of keeping the applications on an enterprise device safe and secure.
According to TechCrunch, the storefront is already loaded with a lot of Android apps, and Cisco tests those apps to make sure that they keep all the company’s information safe. Companies can even develop applications specific to their own business, thereby creating a sort of a “store-within-a-store”. According to the report the Cisco Cius will roll out globally, along with its new AppHQ storefront on July 31.
