According to crackberry, a website aimed to Blackberry users, the terms and conditions of Blackberry App World are updated. With the new terms, carrier- and credit card billing will be possible in the near future as annouched at the BlackBerry Developers Conference in November 2009.
Until now, only payments via the PayPal platform were possible. A big advantage of carrier billing is that it can allow a consumer to buy an application with a single click, whereas for PayPal a signup is required first. However, the new payment options come with a price, since the applicable 80/20 revenue split has changed to the more common 70/30 split. The same revenue share for developers as we see nowadays on other platforms like the Apple Appstore and Android Market.Gert Jan Spriensma
